Our club began in Fall 2007 with three people, a faculty advisor, and a great deal of inspiration. With a huge amount of dedication and support from the university, the club became official in Spring 2008. The club began competing in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (Zone 5, Region 3) circuit and local shows in Spring 2009. At this time, the club has over 100 members and is continuing to blossom.

A considerable group of members takes lessons with our official Coach, Karen Sykes. Karen instructs students in hunter, jumper, equitation, dressage, and cross country disciplines in Odessa, FL.. Many members are already showing on local and rated circuits.

Coaching with a Western instructor will be available shortly. Our goal is to have competitive teams for both English and Western divisions of the IHSA.
