"Spectrum of Spaces"

Established in 2004, the University of South Florida ’s Painting and Drawing Club has exhibited work at a variety of local venues–the Bleu Acier Studio, New Place Art Center , Tranquilo Gallery, Oliver Gallery , and even the Kaleisia Tea Lounge. The Filberts are now pleased to announce their most recent exhibition, Spectrum of Spaces at the Centre Gallery.

Spectrum of Spaces will feature a collection of spatial explorations and interpretations by the club’s most talented members. The artworks will portray different interpretations of the concept of spatiality and will emphasize diversity and express each artist's unique perspective of the exhibition theme, according to their experiences, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.

Through the show, the Filberts hope to encourage viewers to question, examine, and investigate when, where, and how interpretations define reality. Because of this contemplative interaction, the show will transform the gallery into a unique and rich space, in and of itself, where viewers can investigate and examine the works. Ultimately, the audience's awareness of space will evolve as interpretations of the work therein remain the same, yet contextually take on new meanings.

Spectrum of Spaces will run March 3rd – 7th, and after the Spring break intermission will pick up again March 17th – 21st. The Club’s reception will take place March 21, 2008 from 7 – 9PM.
