Chapter History
Beta Gamma Chapter Founding Line On March 4, 1997, a group of ladies joined together to form a group known as ELITE (Elegant, Loyal, Intellectual, Talented, and Educated). ELITE soon became the Interested Ladies of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated. These young ladies had a common goal; to bring an organization catered towards the needs of Latina to the University of South Florida. Although Latin by tradition, that alone does not define Lambda Theta Alpha; we aim to empower the Universal Woman. The road traveled by the ELITE ladies was not without its challenges. Nevertheless, they endured and the Beta Gamma Chapter of Lambda Theta Alpha was established in April 1998. We are proud to be the first Latin sorority at the University of South Florida, and hope to bring about progress in the way Latina women are viewed by society and by themselves. Our goal is to produce strong and educated women, the leaders of today and of tomorrow. We hope to achieve this by working together, promoting leadership and by always maintaining a high academic standard. We strongly believe in the three fundamental principles of Unity, Love and Respect. Each Sister within our Chapter is unique. We are all of different backgrounds and ethnicities, but those differences become advantages when working together. Our goal is to learn from one another, and by doing so, we can achieve our highest potential.
